New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Julius Randle, Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris t game interview 76ers blowout Knicks 99-96; Ben Simmons "double-double"

The celtics just come up short fall to the jazz 117 109 welcome in here to celtics post game live presented by your new england. Four dealers, i’m abby chin that’s our insider chris forsberg we’ve, also got skal on standby. Perks should be coming along at some point. Chris. The effort was there tonight for the celtics. It was just the buckets just not enough buckets, yeah and mike said it on the broadcast it just felt like when, even when it got close, even when the celtics were making that charge, they just haven’t been able to figure out how to win close games against Good teams – and i know people at home are going to obsess about the free throw numbers and it is hard to see a team score 60 points in the paint and only take four free throws. But i still just didn’t see enough at the finish line. Not enough stops, they had that sense of urgency for a little burst after those two jazz threes to sort of get back in it, but it just felt like the jazz they’re, so poised they’re, so steady and that’s. What the celtics has just been lacking this season. Yeah let’s drill down to that fourth quarter and in particular crunch time when the celtics gave up an 11 2 run and a lot of that coming from the perimeter yeah and it just felt like again donovan mitchell – and this is what’s great, like he didn’t – have A loud game, but all of a sudden in crunch time, twice under four minutes.

He had two threes: they just found the right shots. The celtics were just a second slow getting to somebody and they made them pay every single time and again then the celtics cranked their intensity and felt like okay. Maybe they can get back in this a little bit but it’s just so hard, because you can’t just sit there and try and trade baskets. You have to get those defensive stops and it just felt like they never came for the celtics. The celtics gave up 40 points in that fourth quarter. Where are you? I feel like a lot of the twitterverse very upset about a couple of late, marcus, smart threes? Well so i mean they were the guy’s on a minute restriction and you’re asking him to be the focal point at times there at the end, like jason tatum passed up a three, i think they were within three at that point, drove it and then the ball Started kicking around, and i said oh, i don’t know i love this like jt at that point needs to try to take over the game. You know marcus was short on two threes and maybe that’s just again trying to find your legs. You know there are situations where i don’t mind marcus taking it, they were decent, looks, but they just weren’t close, and you know his minute had escalated at that point. You know again, i just go back to it. They’Ve got to be crisper in those situations, and i feel like we’re talking about this a lot.

This season and good teams figure out ways to win games and win close games, because every game in the playoffs is close and the celtics have not figured out how to do that. Quite yet yeah the celtics have played in an nba high 26 crunch time games where it’s within five points. In the last five minutes, they’ve only won 11 of those, but chris the reality is when you give up 19 threes and get outscored by 30 points from three it’s hard to win. So we talked about this coming into the game. Right like this is what the jazz dude they’re gon na hit 17 18 threes in a game. They’Re gon na they’re gon na make you force you to find some way to come back against that. I thought the celtics did a good job in the first half. They lived in that sort of high pick and roll tice picking and pop, and it felt like they were doing a good job neutralizing it. But you just got to score so many times in order to counteract those threes, and there were stretches of the first half where i thought the celtics were good on that line. But you leave ingles at all and he’s gon na make you pay and it just feels like they’re, so good at moving the ball. The extra pass we talk about it all with the celtics they don’t make the hockey assist enough. They can find a shooter, but then there’s a guy flying out at him.

The jazz are so good at just making that next pass and getting an even better look almost to a fault at times and that’s. What the celtics need to aspire to get to with their ball movement, get into the paint make that first pass get them in rotation and then get them to the open shooter they just don’t. Do it enough that jazz depth on display tonight, as well with jordan, clarkson and joe ingles, both coming off the bench and outscoring the celtics? By far but chris, you said it only four: three free throws for the celtics in this entire game that ties a franchise, low and it’s, not like the celtics to you scouts, word weren’t, playing with force tonight, yeah, no it’s, absolutely fair. You know it’s hard to look at that and just just wipe it away. I will say there are games that get done and i say: oh, the refs didn’t really do a good job here felt like you know, celtics didn’t get enough whistles. I didn’t necessarily walk away from this feeling, like that. I think you look at the number and you go wow that seems low, but i still don’t think the celtics play with enough force going at the basket consistently enough, especially in the moments that matter again. I would have rather seen tatum when they’re within three go to the hoop and try and get that foul instead of trying to spin the ball and kick it around.

I know i just said like they got ta find that driving kick, but in that instance i want your best player on the court being super aggressive. It is weird, though, the only four free throws they took were off of an ones. There was no other sequence in which they got fouled and that’s that’s alarming that’s either you know that’s part of that is on the officials, but part of it, too, is on the celtics to be more aggressive and draw that contact going to the basket. I’M. Really curious to hear what skal has to say about that and scout pointing to 28 assists the celtics got there. They just couldn’t get the win. One thing i know: brad stevens is not going to bite on the official question, so we will not get there. We will hear from brad stevens chris. The effort was there tonight for the celtics.
