PlayStation Shockers vs Xbox Showcase

Microsoft’s Next-Gen Games
Microsoft has made a big splash in the gaming world with its recent announcement of 11 first-party games. While the company has been playing catch-up to its competitors, this event has been a major success for them. It’s clear that everyone can agree that this was an exceptional event.
Among the games announced were Starfield and Forza Motorsport, both of which have a launch window this year. Other games, such as Herblade 2, the 2024 update to Flight Simulator, and Obsidian’s new RPG Void, will be released next year. All of these games are next-gen, and some of them don’t even have a launch window yet, such as Fable and Clockwork Revolution.
In addition to these major titles, Microsoft also announced a number of smaller games that will be available on the Game Pass from day one. This is a stark contrast to the PlayStation Showcase, where many of the games announced will also be available on Xbox, but none of the Xbox games will be available on PlayStation.
Overall, Microsoft’s showcase was a huge success, and gamers are eagerly awaiting the release of these titles.
Microsoft’s One Game Pass: What We Learned
Phill Spencer, Microsoft’s Head of Gaming, made an incredible statement at the Xbox event, wearing an Excem t-shirt and quoting the famous saying: “It doesn’t matter where you play, whether it’s PC, Xbox, or the cloud, you’re all gamers and you’re all welcome to Xbox.” This was a wonderful sentiment that put aside the console wars and welcomed all gamers to the Xbox family.
The Phenomenal Thing
The phenomenal thing about this statement is that Microsoft is really paving the way to make a big move and overtake the competition. Spencer also said that Xbox wants to be more than just a console and a game pass, but also a part of every gamer’s home. With the announcement of the new 1TB Series S, Microsoft is clearly making a statement that the next generation of gaming has arrived.
Impressions of Starfield
The event was filled with 50 minutes of Starfield impressions, and it’s clear that this game is going to be a 99.5/100. It’s a completely next-gen title, not a remake or remastered version, and it looks like Xbox is finally ready to light the fuse on the next generation of gaming.
Game of the Year?
When it comes to the Game of the Year discussion, it’s hard to top Zelda, which is a 10/10 game. But with Starfield coming out, it looks like Xbox has all the cards to make a strong claim for the title. We’ll just have to wait and see.
