GTA 6 Expected to Make 1 Billion in Sales in Its First Week
Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to be one of the biggest video games of all time, with an estimated 25 million copies sold and 12 to 14 million unit sales in its first week. This would result in a total of one billion dollars in revenue.
Van Drunen’s Initial Forecast
According to games industry expert Yost van Drunen, initial forecasts for Grand Theft Auto 6 sales are around 25 million. This is based on an optimistic 2025 launch window, given the publisher’s propensity for delays.
Console Install Base
When Derek Strickland reached out to Van Drunen for more clarity on sales, he was told that the 25 million figure is based on a 20 attach rate for the expected console install base for 2024 and 2025. This implies that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S installed bases will be around 125 million by the time. Sony expects the PS5 to hit 63.4 million shipments by March 2024.
GTA 6 Launch Sales
GTA 6 is expected to sell around 12 to 14 million copies at launch, which puts it in line with Grand Theft Auto 5’s previously incredible 11.2 million launch sales.
Grand Theft Auto 6: Breaking Records?
Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to be one of the biggest releases of the year, and the hype is already building. With 21 million copies sold within the first 24 hours, the game is expected to make 1 billion dollars in sales revenue in its first week. For reference, Grand Theft Auto 5 broke a billion dollars in sales just three days after its release. Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive and parent company of Rockstar Games, tweeted shortly after the release of GTA 5: Todays math lesson: GTA 5 + 3 days = 1 billion dollars. GTA 5’s Explosive Launch
GTA 5 shipped a total of 32.5 million copies in its first quarter on the market. It launched at the tail end of the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in September 2013, and was re-released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One just a year later. This allowed Rockstar Games to tap into both console generations for GTA 5 sales. It is impossible to know just how well GTA 6 will do in comparison, but it certainly has a lot to live up to.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is sure to be a major success, but it remains to be seen if it can break the records set by its predecessor. We’ll have to wait and see what Strauss Zelnick has to say after the game’s release.

It’s safe to say that Grand Theft Auto 6 will exceed the success of its predecessor. With the potential for a higher price tag than the typical $60, Rockstar and Take Two Interactive could make upwards of a billion dollars in the first few days of the game’s release.

GTA 6 Fans Going Crazy
Rockstar Games recently uploaded an official teaser trailer for the latest DLC San Andreas mercenaries, and it has GTA 6 fans going crazy. The trailer starts with a rated M for Mature, and it looks like it could be the GTA 6 trailer. Rockstar even sent out a propaganda email that almost made it seem like it was the GTA 6 trailer.
Online Update Coming Out Sooner Than Normal
GTA 6 fans are desperate for something from Rockstar, and the online update coming out a little bit sooner than normal could be a good sign of things to come. There is speculation that we might have a summer 2023 announcement on our hands, which would be amazing.

Incredible Graphics for GTA 6 Characters
Rockstar Games is known for pushing the boundaries of graphics and realism in their games, and the latest installment of Grand Theft Auto 6 looks to be no exception. Fans have been able to get a glimpse of the two main characters, Jason and Lucia, and the images are truly incredible.
Jason is wearing a tank top with a backwards red and white trucker hat, a chain necklace, and Lucia has a wavy ponytail, a pink crop top, and camo blue jeans. Both characters look almost identical to the leaked images, and it’s clear that Rockstar is aiming for photo-realistic graphics.

Grand Theft Honor 6 is the latest installment in the Grand Theft Auto series. It has a unique logo incorporating a parody of the State of Florida into a handgun and also creating the Roman numeral six. It also features fake GTA car brands and in-game stores like ammunition.
