Rockstar Games Tunable Update
Rockstar Games recently released an interesting tunable update alongside an anti cheat update. The tunable pool size went from 2200 to 2500, dating back to Max Payne 3 and changed to tunable pool with Grand Theft Auto 5’s release in 2013.
Preparation for DLC?
The explanation for this update could be a combination of two things: preparation for the DLC or anti cheat related. Legit players were experiencing crashes due to the PC tunables firing off false positive reports, so this update could mean that Rockstar are planning to do something that requires more tunables. This is like the light switches that they can flip on or off, meaning we could be getting something for free or more discounts.
Anti Cheat Related?
For those of you who play on the PC, the safer the game is the better the experience will be. There was more follow up with that, with someone saying that the one tunable pool change is memory related and is likely to do with being able to fit more tunables in memory for the future, such as more DLC.
GTA Online 10th Anniversary and PC Version Updates
Rockstar is planning something special for the 10th anniversary of GTA Online, with the possibility of mass discounts on items. This could potentially warrant an increase in the tunable memory pool size, allowing for more tunable variables.
Alongside this, there have been changes to the bonus list, specifically the anti-cheat Sig scanner, which is currently PC only. It is suspected that this is anti-cheat related, and that console versions may receive the same update.
Rockstar also removes some stuff from the bonus list whenever adding new ones, which could be due to the pool size as well.
The new San Andreas mercenaries update is set to arrive soon, and with it Rockstar is giving away some free stuff. These bonuses may be time sensitive, or something exclusive for playing within the first couple of weeks of the update.
The PC version of the game is also set to become a lot safer, with more details to be revealed soon.
