NFL Street 2: An Arcade Classic

NFL Street 2 is a game that took the classic arcade game NFL Blitz and gave it a darker, grittier look. It is a sports game for the PlayStation 2 and is a favorite among gamers.

Gameplay

NFL Street 2 builds upon everything the first game did and does it better. The main draw of the game is the “Own the City” mode, where players can create their own team and take on other teams in pickup games. All the flashy plays from the first game return, but the newest addition is the ability to run and jump on walls. This small feature adds another layer to the game, as it is possible to run a 100-yard touchdown once you master it.

Style and Showboating

NFL Street 2 is all about style, plays, and showboating. Players can also become the leader of a top-tier team, giving them even more incentive to play.

Fight Night Round

The game also features Fight Night Round, allowing players to take part in boxing matches. With all these features, NFL Street 2 is a great game for sports fans.

PGA Tour 05 was no exception. It was the first game to feature the now iconic party mode, which allowed up to four players to play in a tournament together. It was also the first game to feature the now iconic party mode, which allowed up to four players to play in a tournament together.

Muhammad Ali Boxing Games

Muhammad Ali Boxing Games have been around for as long as gaming and Fight Night Round 3 is one of the most realistic. To date, sure it may look a little dated, but all the mechanics lean more towards simulation than an arcade boxer. The simulation feels there from the start. The game starts with no HUD, and players will have to judge the status of their fighter from multiple indicators like their boxer stance, movement and by paying attention to their facial features. If this feature isn’t for you, you can easily turn on the HUD, but you’ll lose some of the immersion. Fight Night Round 3 has some of the best sound design in a boxing game, the way the punches land you can really feel them, especially when you hit them with a finishing blow.

Aggressive Inline

Aggressive Inline, a somewhat forgotten extreme sports game, took what made the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series amazing and tried to copy it in the world of inline. Each level felt unique and was full of challenges. These challenges will seem familiar if you’re a fan of the Tony Hawk series; get a set score, do a unique level challenge, collect items. Aggressive Inline may not have taken over the gaming space like Tony Hawk, but it is still good fun and one of the best extreme sports games.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 05

When it comes to annualized sports games it’s hard to pick which is the best in the series each year the games get better and build upon the groundwork of the previous entries. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 05 was no exception. It was the first game to feature the now iconic party mode, which allowed up to four players to play in a tournament together. It was also the first game to feature the now iconic party mode, which allowed up to four players to play in a tournament together.

PGA Tour 05 and NHL Hits 2003: A Comparison

PGA Tour 05

PGA Tour 05 is a golf game that offers a lengthy season mode and eight new golf courses, bringing the total to 14. Players can modify courses to make them harder or easier if desired. The game pits players against the best of the best in a 52-week PGA Tour. Tiger Woods games are sure to satisfy any golfing itch.

NHL Hits 2003

NHL Hits 2003 takes hockey and turns it into an arcade game. The core hockey game is there, and players can create a team to join the NHL in the franchise mode. The game is all about the hits and over-the-top movements. It also turns into a traditional fighting game with combos and a health bar.

HotShots Golf 3

HotShots Golf 3 is a PlayStation classic. It may look like a cute golf game, but the game actually has depth. Thanks to its hitting system, players can land a perfect shot by simply tapping the button at the correct time. It is probably the most accessible golf game on the PS2.

Everybody’s Golf: A Golf Game for Everyone

Everybody’s Golf is a golf game that appeals to everyone. It is simple enough for newcomers to enjoy, yet advanced enough for fans of golf games. It is a game that anyone can enjoy, which is why it is called Everybody’s Golf outside of North America.

NBA Street Volume 2: High Flying Dunks and Style

NBA Street Volume 2 took the concept of high flying dunks from NBA Jam and somewhat grounded it. It still had fun alley oops and long range three pointers, but there was a greater emphasis on style. The goal was to make your way up and down the court while showing off your handles and draining threes or throwing up a lob for a huge dunk.

Roster: Current Players and Legends

NBA Street Volume 2 shined in its roster. It featured current players at the time such as Vince Carter, Kobe and Shaq, but the addition of legends was a blast. It was great to see Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Bill Russell go against A.I Ben Wallace and Jason Kidd.

SSX Tricky: A Toss Up

Some would say that SSX Tricky is a better game than NBA Street Volume 2. It is a toss up, as SSX 3 focused on more grounded racing and tricks. It was full of great snowboarding action with three main gameplay modes. Races were self explanatory, as players had to get to the Finish Line as fast as possible. Freestyle events were more trick-focused, such as slope style, super pipe and Big Air. There were also other challenges such as collecting items and jumping through hoops during a run.

Madden NFL 2005

Madden NFL 2005 was a revolutionary game for the Madden franchise. It introduced the hit stick, which is still a staple of the game today. The game was full of features, from creating a player and teams, to franchise modes and creating a Playbook. It practically set the groundwork for modern Madden games. The online multiplayer feature was also a great addition, allowing players to go head to head with each other. Sadly, this feature is no longer available.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 was another revolutionary game. It took everything from Pro Skater 2 and added one new feature that changed how we look at combos: the revert. This feature made progression fun and made players want to 100 each level. The game also had tight controls with loads of combos, unique levels and characters. You could make an argument that Pro Skater 4 or Underground are better games, but Pro Skater 3 is a much tighter package.
