Nikon Z9 Firmware Update
I’m back home taking care of a family situation, so I’m pretty much offline. However, Nikon have just updated firmware 4.0 for the Z9 and I’m here to talk you through the new features. I would have done all the testing and brought you the details in detail, but I will get to updating the full course in a couple of days time.
Features of the Update
The firmware update does three things. It offers a range of options depending on your needs. For some people, a medium format will be best, for some an APS-C will be best, and for some Canon will be best. Nikon offers something that no one else can.
Discounts on Courses
If you saw my last video, you’ll know that my courses are currently on sale. You can find all the details from my learn.mad Grandeur site and my learn.artnew portraiture site. Most of them are 50% off, with a couple of them being 20% off.
The Nikon Z9: The Best Mirrorless Camera?
The Nikon Z9 is certainly one of the best mirrorless cameras on the market, and for Nikon shooters, its without a doubt the best camera that Nikon has ever released. With the recent firmware update, the Z9 has been set apart from the Z8, making it unquestionably the best integrated grip, full size, full frame, mirrorless camera on the market.
What Does the Firmware Update Do?
The firmware update provides new and improved features, as well as setting the Z9 apart from the Z8. The Z9 has some brand new and really cool features that are not available in the Z8, and it does not have some features that the Z8 has. This puts a wedge between the two cameras so that they dont offer exactly the same features.
How to Update the Firmware
To update the firmware, you can check the link below for a free download. Open up the download file and get the bin file. Put the bin file onto the root of your CF Express card, pop it into the camera, and then go into the menu to update the firmware. It should only take a couple of minutes.
The Auto Capture Feature
The first thing that the firmware update adds is a feature called Auto Capture, which works for both stills and video. There are three different criteria that you can use to work through. This feature makes it easier to capture the perfect shot.
Motion Detection Camera
The latest motion detection camera is a revolutionary piece of technology that can be used for a variety of purposes. It has the ability to detect motion, direction, distance, and even subjects like people, animals, and vehicles. This opens up a world of possibilities for remote shooting and second shooters.
Motion Detection
The motion detection feature allows you to set up the camera and have it start shooting as soon as it detects motion. You can also program it to start recording video in the settings that you have set up.
Distance Detection
The distance detection feature allows you to set a range for the camera to detect motion. For example, you can set it to detect motion between five to ten meters from the camera. This is great for shooting races, as it can detect when someone crosses the finish line or a certain marker.
Subject Detection
The subject detection feature allows the camera to detect people, animals, and vehicles. When one of these subjects is detected, the camera will start firing.
Combined Detection
The most impressive feature of this camera is the ability to combine all three detection features. You can set it to detect an animal that is moving in a certain direction and is within a certain distance. This feature is not available on any other camera and makes this camera stand out from the competition.
Sony and Canon Cameras for Action Scenes
When shooting action scenes for movies, having the right camera is essential. Sony and Canon cameras offer features that make them ideal for this purpose.
Remote Triggering
Both Sony and Canon cameras have the ability to be remotely triggered, making it easier to capture the action.
New Video Features
The cameras also have new video features, such as the ability to shoot in low ISO modes, simulating ISO 200 exposure. This gives better shadow detail and makes it easier to control shooting in bright situations.
High Res Zoom
The cameras also have a high res zoom feature, which allows for a two times digital zoom without losing quality. There are now 11 speeds available, so users can dial in how quickly they want the zoom to be applied.
Customizable Shutter Sound
The cameras also have a customizable shutter sound, with five different sounds at different levels of volume. Unfortunately, users cannot program it to be a cat meowing or something similar.
Pre Release Buffer
The cameras also have a pre release buffer, which allows users to be all set up and ready to shoot. They can program it to be ready with their finger on the trigger, but not engaging the trigger, until they are ready.
Introducing the Nikon Z8 Camera
The Nikon Z8 camera is the latest addition to the Nikon Z series of cameras. This camera has a number of features that make it stand out from the crowd, including a pre-release capture for raw, 3D autofocus tracking, and the ability to record up to 300 seconds of footage before the shutter is pressed.
Capture the Moment
The Nikon Z8 camera is perfect for capturing those moments that are hard to predict, such as lightning strikes. With the ability to record up to 300 seconds of footage before the shutter is pressed, you can be sure to catch those moments that you would otherwise miss.
3D Autofocus Tracking
The Nikon Z8 is the only camera in the Z series to have 3D autofocus tracking. This feature is especially useful for shooting erratic subjects, as it allows for more accurate focusing. The Z8 also has a new red focus box option, which can be helpful depending on the subject being shot.
Pre-Release Capture for Raw
The Nikon Z8 also offers pre-release capture for raw, allowing for more flexibility when shooting. This feature was sorely missed in the Z6s and Z7s, and the addition of it to the Z8 is a welcome one.
Overview of Features
The Zed system offers a wide range of features for photographers of all levels. From a quick setup PDF for each camera to a deep dive into the menu options, the Zed system has something for everyone. Additionally, users can customize the system to their liking with the ability to assign custom functions to buttons for stills, video, and playback.
Delay on Shutter Button
One of the more unique features of the Zed system is the delay on the shutter button. This allows photographers to line up their shot and then set a delay so that their hand is off the camera when the shutter actually goes off.
Bracketing by Aperture
The Zed system also offers finer increments for bracketing by aperture, now 1.3, 1.5, 1.7, 2.3, 2.5, and 2.7, rather than just full stops. This allows photographers to get more precise shots.
Improved Metering Accuracy
The Zed system also offers improved metering accuracy for shooting interval shots. This is perfect for photographers who want to capture multiple shots in a short period of time. Additionally, users can change the 3D tracking from white to red.
For more detailed information on the Zed system and its features, users can check out the setup guide. This guide will provide a comprehensive overview of all the features available in the Zed system.
Firmware Updates for Fuji Z9 Camera
Fuji has always been known for providing regular updates to their cameras, and the Z9 is no exception. In the 18 months since the camera was announced, Fuji has released version 4.0 of the firmware, adding a range of new features and capabilities.
The Z9 now offers 8.3K resolution, 60 raw with high res zoom, and a range of other features. This is in contrast to many other cameras that require firmware updates to address bugs and missing features.
Features of the Z9
The Z9 has a range of features that set it apart from the Z8. These include subject detect auto capture, skin softening, and a range of video features. The Z8 will soon receive the subject detect auto capture feature, however the skin softening and other features are more likely to remain Z9-oriented. This makes sense, as the Z8 and Z850 have traditionally been more portrait-oriented cameras, while the Z9 is designed for integrated grip.
Support for New Lenses
In addition to the firmware updates, Fuji is also providing support for some new lenses. This will enable users to get the most out of their camera and take advantage of the latest technology.
Sports is an Absolute Workhorse of a Video Camera
Sports is an absolute workhorse of a video camera that blows everything out of the water at this price point. To those of you in the comments who say “oh if she cares so much about video features, you should go and buy a video camera” either you don’t shoot video and you don’t know what you’re talking about, or you do shoot video but you just have a very different take on it. This is a video camera. If this shot knows Stills, this would still be a bargain at five and a half thousand dollars for the video capabilities. If you only shoot Stills, it’s a bargain for five and a half thousand dollars as well, but putting them both together, there’s nothing that comes close to this.

Overwhelming Support and Kind Messages
Thank you for the overwhelming support and kind messages I’ve got on my previous video about my family situation. I’m sorry I just can’t reply to them all, because my family time is more important than my replying to comments at the moment, but I do read as many as I can and I really appreciate it. Cheers guys.
