Introduction

I’m back home and taking care of a family situation, so I’m pretty much offline. Nikon have just released firmware 4.0 for the Z9, and I would have been able to bring you the new features in detail, and update my Nikon setup guide with all the updates. I have a few courses on sale at my learn.mad Grandeur and learn.artnew portraiture sites, with some discounted up to 50%. In this article, I’ll be talking about the new features of the firmware update and why I think Nikon is leading the mirrorless world.

The New Features of Firmware 4.0

The new firmware update does three things. Firstly, it adds support for the new Z-mount lenses. Secondly, it adds support for the new Z-mount teleconverters. Finally, it adds support for the new Z-mount flash units.

Why Nikon is Leading the Mirrorless World

I’m a bit of a Nikon fan, but I think in the mirrorless world, depending on your needs, Nikon is leading the way. They have a wide range of lenses, teleconverters and flash units that can meet the needs of any photographer. They also have features that no other camera manufacturer can offer. Canon may be a close second, but Nikon is still leading the way.

Nikon Z9: The Best Mirrorless Camera

The Nikon Z9 is certainly among the best mirrorless cameras available, and for Nikon shooters, it is without a doubt the best camera that Nikon has ever released. The recent firmware update has done two things: first, it has provided new and improved features, as a firmware update should; and second, it has set the Z9 apart from the Z8, as it has added some features that the Z8 does not have, and has not added some features that the Z8 does have.

Updating the Firmware

Updating the firmware is a simple process: just check the link below for the free download, open the download file, get the bin file, put it onto the root of your CF Express card, pop it into the camera, and then into the menu update firmware. It should only take a couple of minutes.

Auto Capture Feature

The first thing that the firmware update has added is a feature called Auto Capture, which works for both stills and video. There are three different criteria that you can use to work through.

Motion Detection Camera Feature

The latest camera model has a motion detection feature that sets it apart from the competition. This feature allows you to set up the camera and program it to detect motion in a certain direction and start shooting or recording video. You can also set it to detect motion based on distance. For example, you can set it to start shooting when something is between five to ten meters away from the camera.

Detection of People, Animals and Vehicles

This camera can also detect people, animals or vehicles and start shooting when it detects one of those. This opens up a lot of possibilities for remote shooting or having a second shooter.

Combining Motion, Distance and Subject Detection

The most impressive feature of this camera is that you can combine all three of these features. You can set it to shoot when an animal is moving in a certain direction and is between a certain distance away. This feature is not available in any other camera and could be very useful for shooting races or other events.

Sony and Canon Cameras for Action Scenes

When shooting action scenes for movies, having the right camera is essential. Sony and Canon cameras are two of the most popular brands for this purpose. They both offer features that make them ideal for action scenes, such as remote triggering, new video features, and customizable shutter sounds.

Remote Triggering

Sony and Canon cameras are both capable of remote triggering, which is essential for shooting action scenes. This allows you to have multiple cameras rigged up and remotely trigger them to capture the action.

New Video Features

Both Sony and Canon cameras have new video features that make them ideal for shooting action scenes. For example, the base ISO before was 800, but now it allows you to get to low 2 modes, which gives you better shadow detail and makes it easier to control your shooting in bright situations. Additionally, the cameras have a high res zoom feature, which allows you to do a two times digital zoom without losing quality.

Customizable Shutter Sound

The Sony and Canon cameras also have a customizable shutter sound feature. There are five different sounds at different levels of volume, so you can choose the sound that best suits your needs. Additionally, you can program the camera to be ready to shoot with pre-release on, so you can be focused and have your finger on the trigger without engaging the trigger.

Introducing Nikon’s Z8 Camera

The Nikon Z8 Camera is the latest model in the Nikon Z series and it comes with some exciting new features. One of the most notable features is the ability to capture up to 300 seconds of footage before you hit the shutter. This is great for capturing those moments that are hard to predict, such as lightning strikes or a surprise birthday party.

3D Autofocus Tracking

The Z8 is the only camera in the Z series that has 3D autofocus tracking. This feature was sorely missed from the Z6s and Z7s, so it’s great to see it included in the Z8. Nikon have also added a new red focus box option, which can be helpful depending on what you’re shooting.

Pre-Release Capture for Raw

One feature that the Z8 does not have is pre-release capture for raw. This is a feature that many photographers have been wanting, but unfortunately it is not included in the Z8.

Overall, the Nikon Z8 Camera is a great addition to the Z series and it comes with some exciting new features. It is sure to be a hit with photographers who are looking for a camera with great autofocus tracking and the ability to capture up to 300 seconds of footage.

Features of the Z6 Mark II Camera

The Z6 Mark II camera offers a wide range of features that make it a great choice for photographers. If you’re looking to get the most out of your camera, check out the setup guide for more details.

Customizable Settings

The Z6 Mark II allows you to customize your settings out of the box. This includes a quick setup PDF for the camera, as well as a deep dive into all the menu options that the Z cameras offer and how you can make the most of them.

Improved Metering Accuracy

The Z6 Mark II also offers improved metering accuracy for shooting interval shots. This is great for capturing the perfect shot.

Delay on the Shutter Button

The Z6 Mark II also has a delay on the shutter button so that you can line up your shot and then tell it to pause for half a second or a second every time. This ensures that your hand is off the camera when the shutter actually goes off.

Bracketing by Aperture

The Z6 Mark II also offers much finer increments for bracketing by aperture, now 1.3, 1.5, 1.7, 2.3, 2.5 and 2.7, rather than just full stops.

Custom Functions

You can also assign custom functions to even more buttons now for stills, video and playback. Additionally, you can change the 3D tracking from white to red.

Fujifilm Z9 Firmware Updates

Fujifilm has always been known for providing great updates to their cameras, but the Z9 has taken it to a whole new level. In the 18 months since the camera was announced, it has received version 4.0 with a range of features that have pushed it to the next level.

The Z9 now offers 8.3K resolution, 60 raw files, and high res zoom, to name just a few of its features. This is a far cry from the original version, which was already good, but the firmware updates have taken it to exceptional.

Z9 vs Z8

The Z9 has firmly established itself as a separate camera from the Z8. While the Z8 will soon receive subject detect auto capture, the Z9 will remain the more video-oriented camera, with features like skin softening and more. This makes sense, as the Z8 and Z850 have traditionally been more portrait-oriented cameras, while the Z9, with its integrated grip, is meant for more general use.

The Fujifilm Z9 has been a great success, and its firmware updates have pushed it to the next level. It has firmly established itself as a separate camera from the Z8, with more video-oriented features, and its 8.3K resolution, 60 raw files, and high res zoom make it a great choice for any photographer.

Sports is an Absolute Workhorse of a Video Camera

Sports is an absolute workhorse of a video camera that blows everything out of the water at this price point. To those of you in the comments who say “oh if she cares so much about video features, you should go and buy a video camera” either you don’t shoot video and you don’t know what you’re talking about, or you do shoot video but you just have a very different take on it. This is a video camera. Even if this shot only knows stills, this would still be a bargain at five and a half thousand dollars for the video capabilities.

Putting Them Both Together

Putting both the stills and video capabilities together, there’s nothing that comes close to this. If you’re looking at picking up any of my courses, now is a great time as they are on sale for the rest of July.

Overwhelming Support and Kind Messages

I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and kind messages I’ve got on my previous video about my family situation. I’m sorry I just can’t reply to them all, because my family time is more important than my replying to comments at the moment, but I do read as many as I can and I really appreciate it. Cheers guys!
