UAVs are now available.
Introduction
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s fourth season has brought a lot of changes to the game, and DMZ is no exception. In this article, we’ll take a look at the biggest changes to DMZ, as well as some of the smaller changes that have been made.
Increased Player Health
The biggest change to season four is that the player health has been increased to match Warzone’s new player health of 150 HP. Combined with fully plated armor, players now have up to 300 HP, meaning gunfights are no longer going to be as quick and rapid as they used to be. This makes the game harder for solo players, as they will have to factor in the extra health when taking on a squad of three. The health of the AI has also been adjusted to reflect this increased player health, so AI now take more bullets too.
Weapon Tuning
An issue which has been present since the very beginning of the game is that weapon tuning now works as fully intended. If you go to fine tune attachments for your insured weapon slot gun, they now actually reflect inside of the game.
Counter UAVs
A huge new addition to DMZ, which for some reason Infinity Ward have not spoken about, is that counter UAVs are now available. This is a great addition to the game, as it gives players a way to counter enemy UAVs and gain the upper hand in the game.
UAVs in the Game
UAVs are now available in the game, found in random loot from supply drops by killing the new bullfrog boss and when you use a Counter UAV. When using a Counter UAV, a massive blue circle will appear on your minimap and any enemy players within that blue circle will have the UAV effect. Currently, these can only be found in Vondle. If you equip a Counter UAV and Expo, you can go into any DMZ map with the Counter UAV.
Broadside Shotgun No Longer Dominant
Up until now, the KV broadside shotgun has been the dominant weapon to use in DMZ for short and medium range engagements. However, with the increased player health in Season 4, the broadside is no longer the greatest close range weapon to use. It has been secretly buffed, making the 800 and 890 far more consistent in damage than the broadside.
New Two Plate Special Vests
Infinity Ward has added new two plate special vests that now spawn in the wild. These include the medic vest, stealth vest, and comms vest. Previously, these could only be found in three plated versions, but now they can be found in two plated versions. An example of this can be found on Ashika Island, where a medic vest was found. When dropped, it visually looks different.
Two Plates Instead of Three
It isn’t quite as built as a normal three plated one, so you still get the special abilities of those armor vests, but now you only get two plates to carry instead of three. I’d rather have one of those than a standard two plate vest.
Audible and Visual Prompts
Another secret new change that I actually really like is that when you get into gunfights with other real players, there is now an audible and a visual prompt of text on screen. That shows when you are outnumbered, meaning that you were taking on a fight where there are more than one enemy player involved. It’s a great warning by the game, to sort of tell you “hey, you’re getting into a fight with more than one player, maybe you shouldnt do this” and it gives you an extra second of four, if you maybe want to back off from trying to take that fight.
Easter Eggs
On the channel, we are all about secrets and Easter eggs and Vondle has quite a few scattered in different parts of the map. You can find different gold camo 5 attachment weapons, which are all very usable in DMZ against AI and real players. Some of them are hidden in plain sight and some are actually very complicated. I’ll show you the most complicated one.
Random Townhouse
First, now in the middle of Vondel, there is a random townhouse that has a door which is just stuck.
The Secret Underwater Puzzle
To open the secret underwater puzzle, you’ll need to come to the townhouses section of the map and equip a rebreather. Swim towards the end of the tunnel and take a left. Keep going until you reach the end, then take a right. Continue along the tunnel until you reach a staircase that will lead you into the under section of a house.
The Secret Room
Once you make your way up to the top, you’ll find yourself in a secret room with a load of chests. Tucked away in the kitchen is a gold M13B with five attachments on it. This build of the M13 has very little recoil and is surprisingly viable.
The Stronghold Secret Weapon
Another secret weapon can be found in the stronghold in the market section of bundle.
Key Card to Enter Stronghold
In order to enter the stronghold, you need a key card. Once you have the key card, you will be able to access the stronghold and the AI inside are insane.
Gold Signal 50
When you make your way to the second floor of the market, you will find a billiards table with a gold Signal 50 lined up on it. This is a very viable build of the Signal 50 and it is quick to fire.
Gold One Shot Victus XMR
The gold One Shot Victus XMR from the St Patricks Day event can also be found in vondle. To find it, you need to make your way to the top right of the map to the Central Station POI. Inside of Central Station, you will find a ticket booth. You need to run around the sides to get up to the staircase and you will find the Victus lying there. You need to get on the barriers and then jump to glide over and there it is – the gold Victus XMR with the exact same attachments as the St Patricks Day version. It is not confirmed if it is a one shot like it was for that event, but it is a very powerful version of the Victus and it is great to have as a Contraband weapon.
Secret Gold Sniper on Vondo
To find the third and final secret gold sniper on Vondo, you need to make your way to the top floor of the castle. In the bedroom, you will find the FJX Imperium with five attachments and it is pretty good. As you learn the bundle map and you learn where all of these spawns are, you can get a guaranteed good weapon very quickly off the spawn.
Secret Gold Weapon at the Police Station
At the police station POI, make your way to the first floor and then over to the right side of the building. Inside one of the prison cells, you will find a KV broadside with five attachments and in gold. To make things even better, there is a UAV kill streak on the bed as well. This build of the broadside has 25 rounds, which you’re going to need with that Health increase.
Changes to the Playing System
There have been some subtle changes to the playing system. Knowing where to look, you can find these secret gold weapons littered all over the map.
Timer for when You Can Play
When you’re dead, you may see a timer on screen for when you can play. This isn’t consistent, but in some cases there will be a timer that you have to wait until it ends before you can plead change.
Contract Money Rewards
A new feature has been added where contract money rewards are now split with your squad, rather than the final player that completes the final part of the contract getting most of the money. This is a big win for players.
Siphon Gas from Vehicles
Every vehicle within DMZ now has the ability to siphon gas from other vehicles. This means you can drain a vehicle of its fuel so that enemy operators can’t use it, or at least not drive it. In the past, you could use a fuel can to refuel a vehicle, but now gas cans have a percentage of gas in them. If you don’t have a full gas can, you can siphon the gas from another vehicle.
Barter Recipes
All the barter recipes that we learn over season are now a secret change. It will be interesting to see how players use this as a tactical advantage against other real players.
Secure Backpack
The recipe for a secure backpack on a Sheikah Island has been adjusted to require one gold skull, two gas cans, and two electric grills. This makes it more difficult to craft these items than it was before.
Greenery
The greenery has been made more green, vibrant, colorful, and saturated.
Crochet Complex
The Crochet Complex has been updated so that when you spawn into either of the four areas, you will now be able to find a note from the shopkeeper of what he requires you to have in order to unlock his buy station. This makes a lot more sense than before, as you can now find the items earlier on in the game.
Koshai Complex
A new secret has been added to the Koshai Complex. After taking down the Rhino and the Sniper, there is a new safe that requires a diamond drill in order to open. Not much is known about this diamond drill.
Secret Room in Alpha Cluster
Reports suggest that the Easter eggs in the Alpha Cluster can only be completed by using the r4d detectors to open a secret door. However, when attempting to access this secret room, the drill was not found. There is now a new secret room which is keypad locked and requires a key code to open. At the moment, the solution to the puzzle is unknown, but a video will be released once it is solved.
Value of Items in DMZ Changed
The value of items in the DMZ has changed dramatically. For example, a gold bar was previously worth 8,000 but is now worth 2,000. A gold skull was previously worth 12,000 but is now worth 8,000. This makes it harder to get a lot of cash by selling items, as a new wallet has been introduced where you can keep cash out of games.
Contract Cash Rewards Modified
Contract cash rewards have also been modified. Most of these rewards have been reduced, with the exception of secure nuclear material, which now rewards 500 more cash than before.
New Secrets and Changes in DMZ Season 4
DMZ season 4 has brought with it a number of new secrets and changes. One of the most notable is the addition of a video box that allows viewers to quickly access another video. This is a great feature for those who want to quickly jump to another video without having to search for it.
