The contrast is good and the colours are vibrant right out of the box, with no further adjustments needed.

The Legion Go features a detachable controller design, with a simple button press on the back allowing users to easily disconnect the controllers and use them wirelessly. However, the device does not come with a controller holder similar to what comes bundled with the Nintendo Switch, which would be a great addition. The controllers come equipped with precision hall effect joysticks, multi-functional trigger locks and a generously sized touchpad that provides haptic feedback. The joysticks are incredibly smooth and comfortable to use and the tactile feedback when pressing down the keys is quite satisfying. Furthermore, the device features six additional mappable grip buttons and well designed triggers contributing to an ergonomic layout that ensured hours of comfortable gameplay during my testing.

When it comes to gaming performance, the Legion Go is simply amazing. I have been using it for around one week now, and I have been thoroughly enjoying it. The device is powered by an Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti GPU, which is more than enough for most games. The device also features 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, which is more than enough for most gamers. The Legion Go also features a large 6,000 mAh battery, which is more than enough to last a few hours of gaming.
This mode, allows the user to hold the device like a controller, with the left and right Joy-Cons, acting as the triggers. This mode, is especially useful for those who prefer a more traditional gaming experience.

The Legion Go is capable of running the latest games at high frame rates. In Cyberpunk 2077, it achieved a maximum frame rate of around 60fps at 1280×800 resolution. Forza Horizon 5 performed even better, hitting a maximum of 100fps with the same settings. For those inclined towards higher graphics settings like a 2560×1660 resolution, expect frame rates to drop to 35fps in Cyberpunk 2077 and 55fps in Forza Horizon 5. Alternatively, users can optimise for longer battery life by switching to balanced mode for thermal and OS power and turning off full fan speed. This trade off allows the device to last longer, though, at the expense of lower frame rates. Even with these settings, it still manages a highly playable 80fps at 1280×800 resolution in Forza Horizon 5.

With default settings, the Legion Go managed to last around 2 hours. This is a decent battery life for a handheld gaming PC, but it may not be enough for some gamers.
