GTA 6 Leaks and Insider Reports
There have been a ton of leaks and Insider reports over the last couple weeks that revealed a bunch of new Intel about the upcoming game Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6). This article will go over all the new information that has been revealed in the last few weeks.
GTA 6 Sales Projection
Juice van drunen, a games industry expert, recently shared his predictions for GTA 6’s sales number. According to him, GTA 6 is going to sell between 12 and 14 million copies on launch day. This number is based on an anticipated 20 attach rate across the Xbox and PlayStation. This means that 20% of all console owners will buy GTA 6 on the day it comes out. By the time the game drops, which is believed to be late 2024 to early 2025, launch numbers would be somewhere between 12 and 14 million. This is solidly above the 11 million that GTA 5 sold in its first 24 hours.
GTA 6 Expected to Sell 25 Million Copies
Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is expected to sell roughly 25 million units by the time the launch hype wears off, according to Juice van Drunen. This number is slightly below the 32 million copies that GTA 5 sold during its first three months, however there are some key differences between the markets.
GTA 5’s Success
Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) launched in 2013 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and managed to sell over 1 million copies in its first 24 hours. At that point in those consoles life cycles, they were already in over 150 million peoples homes. GTA 5 was then ported to the PS4 and Xbox One just a year after the original version launched and then shortly after that, the PC version came out. This gave players plenty of ways to buy it and many people double dipped, resulting in the higher sales of GTA 5.
GTA 6’s Potential
GTA 6 may only be expected to hit 25 million copies in the time frame where the previous game hit over 30 million, however there are plenty of good reasons for that. The main one being that there just arent as many people playing on the PS5 and Xbox series consoles as they were playing on the 360 and PS3. Despite this, GTA 6 is still expected to do well in terms of long term sales. 25 million copies is still an insane amount of money generated for Take 2 interactive and reports suggest that the overall budget for GTA 6 is crossing the one billion Dollar Mark. If the game sells 12-14 million copies on launch day, this could be a huge success for the franchise.
GTA 6 Expected to Have Explosive Launch Sales
GTA 6 is expected to have explosive launch sales, with the game launching at a price of 70 dollars, compared to the 60 dollars of GTA 5. GTA 5 crossed the 1 billion revenue mark in just three days, and with GTA 6 selling for more money per copy, it is practically guaranteed that it will break the billion dollar speed record.
GTA 6 to Carry the Game for Years
GTA 6 is expected to carry the game for years on end. Rumors have been circulating that the GTA 6 version of GTA Online will feature giant map expansions over time and do some really crazy stuff, even crazier than GTA 5’s version. This means that even if the base game slows down in terms of long term sales, the new version of GTA Online is sure to pick up the slack.
GTA 6 to Benefit from New Consoles
When the PS6 and new Xbox come out in 2027 or 2028, GTA 6 is sure to benefit from the new consoles. This will ensure that the game will continue to be popular and profitable for many years to come. With the massive budget and lengthy development process, Take Two and Rockstar are sure to make more than enough money to justify the investment.
GTA 6 and GTA Online
The release of GTA 6 is eagerly anticipated, and it is likely that a port for PC will follow shortly after the base game launches. But what about GTA Online? Recently, an insider source shared some potentially controversial information about the future of GTA Online.
According to this source, GTA Online 2 will not run on dedicated servers. This could present a number of major problems for a game of this scale. Additionally, explosions may still cause desyncing and lag spikes due to the way they are streamed from the closest player. Rockstar has been adding checks to explosion native functions, but these may not be enough to prevent desyncing and lag spikes.
It is important to note that none of this is 100% confirmed, and Rockstar may still choose to launch the game with dedicated servers. However, the source is considered reliable, so until we hear otherwise, it is likely that GTA Online 2 will not run on dedicated servers.
GTA Online 2 News and Liberty City Update
According to prominent GTA leaker Marco, Rockstar is planning on completely remastering the Liberty City map from GTA 4 and using that as the big final update for the current version of GTA Online. This Liberty City update will be the last update the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game ever receive, although the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series versions will continue to get smaller updates and patches as time goes on.
GTA 6 Announcement
Rockstar has yet to reveal when they plan on announcing this Liberty City update, but hopefully it’s soon, as it could take away some of the hype from the GTA 6 announcement. It was initially leaked that GTA 6 would have multiple settings and take place across multiple time periods, but after the Rockstar data breach, it seemed more likely that the game would only be set in Vice City and its surrounding areas, and only during the modern day.
GTA Online and Basecad A6 News
What new information has come out about Basecad A6? Well, actually quite a bit. The initial leaks for GTA 6 claimed the game would have multiple settings and take place across multiple time periods. But after the data breach at Rockstar, it seemed more and more like the game would only be set in Vice City and its surrounding areas, and only during the modern day.
